TX Davy Crockett’s Alamo Flag
You’ve heard of Davy Crockett right, but did you know he had a flag too?
This flag is described in a journal entry from Davy Crockett dated February 23, 1836 “We have a had a large national flag made. It is composed of thirteen stripes, red and white, alternating on a blue ground, with a large white star, of five points, in the center, and between the points the letters ‘TEXAS.’ ” Some historians don’t believe the Crockett journal is authentic. But variants of this flag were noted in other revolutionary episodes in the weeks leading up to the Alamo battle.
