A powerful variation of the original “Don’t Tread On Me” flag, this historic banner is believed to have been used by the Culpeper Minutemen of Colonial America—volunteer militia known for bearing the bold motto “Liberty or Death.” Though its exact origins remain unconfirmed, this design may have been carried by the very first Minutemen to confront British forces at the outset of the Revolutionary War.
Prominently displayed on the flag is a coiled rattlesnake above the defiant phrase “DON’T TREAD ON ME.” The rattlesnake had long been adopted as a symbol of the American Colonies, in part because it was native exclusively to North America. The slogan’s meaning is clear: like the rattlesnake, America may be peaceful if left alone—but will strike with deadly force when provoked.
Notably, the shape of the snake is said to resemble the original American Colonies—its tail curling near Florida and its head pointing toward New England—symbolizing unity and readiness in the fight for independence.

This is an American made flag of tough, durable and long-lasting nylon fabric, with solid brass grommets. You won’t find nylon flags with higher tensile and tear strength. This flag has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. The colors are deeper, brighter and last over time, due to the aniline dyeing process. This fabric has better wash-fastness and light-fastness than nylons of similar fabric construction.
There is a one inch double edge fold with four rows of stitching on the fly edge. It has 1 1/2 inch reinforced stitching vertically at the fly corners, and 3 1/2 inch reinforced hem stitching (horizontal) at top of bottom of the fly.
