Opinion/Letter: Confederacy issue is distorted

The writer of the article suggests that he has a right to defend, and support his Confederate heritage. Regardless of public viewpoints. With the argument being that his ancestors died for what they believed in, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, it is flawed thinking. The biggest reason the confederates went to war was to defend there economy, and there way of life. Which led to them to wage war against the Union and succeed. The Confederate soldiers in the end were blind, and misguided. No matter the reason, we shouldn’t praise them or commemorate them,
