There is still intolerance in the world even though you’d expect it to be better. This letter talks about and what it means for us as a society. There are many groups who are met with discrimination and intolerance in general and this should not be the case. it is not good for them or for anyone.
- Our universities were formerly known as places OF free speech are now becoming places FROM free speech
- I have friends that fly the Confederate flag as a monument to history. I may not fly that flag, but I defend their right to do so.
- While we may not be proud of some chapters in our history, does that give us the right to rewrite the history books and lessons from it?
“In a country that was founded on many freedoms (including freedom of speech and freedom to worship as we wish) we find ourselves rapidly regressing into intolerance.”
