Unfortunately, slavery and white supremacy actions, groups and perpetrators were a large part of the American culture for many years prior to civil rights movements and laws. This article discusses four major confederate style historical monuments in New Orleans that have been damaged and deemed an insult to the city and its people. It discusses how the monuments have been addressed and explores the pending US Court decision on their impending removal.
