A proposed law in Mississippi would remove accreditation from any school that refuses to fly the state flag, a flag that includes the Confederate stars and bars in the upper left corner. Many Mississippi schools in majority black neighborhoods have flaunted this rule because they see this flag’s imagery as symbolic of racism.
