Charlottesville, VA city councilman Bob Fenwick announced that he intends to vote for the removal of the statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee from Lee Park. Lawmakers denied the local government from damaging or removing war monuments in 1998, but some argue that the protection only covers monuments that were built after the law went into effect.
