Church stops Confederate ceremony, cuts ties with group

There is a ton of controversy surrounding anything to do with the Confederate flag or the Civil War in general. People want to distance themselves from history because they find it shameful. It embarrasses them. This church is trying to do that by cutting ties with groups which want to honor it. They are trying to stay in people’s good graces.
