South Carolina Confederate sympathizers are bitterly divided over a plant to commemorate the Civil War. It’s almost a civil war over the Civil War. The state chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans wants to build a monument to the state’s signers of the 1860 Ordinance of Secession, but the S.C. Secessionist Party lambastes the whole project as a Ponzi scheme to raise funds.
