Patrick County supervisors vote to protect Confederate monument

After a two hour debate the Board of Supervisors in Patrick County, Virginia voted 4-1 not to remove the confederate monument at the county courthouse. Due to the current existing law that protects erected monuments, Dr. L. Boyce was the opposing vote. He felt that despite his opinion of keeping the statue up, the vote itself was a moot point.
