In New Orleans, friction is continuing between two parties on the movement of controversial confederate statues. The city is arguing they have the right as local governing authority to remove said statues, while opponents argue removal with cause irreparable harm. The decision has floated through not only state, but also federal courts and is currently residing in the fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
