A Sgt. Jon Peters of Rockingham County, North Carolina is being hailed as a hero due to his bravery in handling a residential fire. While on patrol duty, he spotted a fire that had overtaken a house. After calling it in, he rushed into the house, waking its owner and his young children. With the family awakened and out of harm’s way, Sgt. Peters proceeded to minimize the damage of the fire by combating it with a garden hose.
