Confederate flag in parade upset residents

A confederate flag was flown during a Fourth of July parade in Delaware, this past Summer. It was felt to be offensive by many in the town, and seemed to be inappropriate, especially flying it during Independence Day. The flag was flown by a 17 year old town member who claims he is actively involved with volunteering for veterans. In his eyes, the flag represented our country’s freedom and liberties.
