The Tajikistan Flag was adopted on November 24, 1992. The yellow crown stands for the people. In tradition, seven is a symbol of perfection and is why there are seven stars. The green stands for Islam, the red symbolizes the sun, and the white represents purity.
In 2011 the Tajikistan flag gained unique distinction when it entered the Guinness Book or World Records as the largest flag in the world being flown from the tallest flag pole in the world.
