The Nepal Flag was adopted on December 16th, 1972. The Flag of Nepal is the only country flag in the world to not be in the shape of a rectangle or square. The two triangle symbolize the Himalaya Mountains, as well as the two main religions of Nepal, Buddhism and Hinduism. Crimson is the national color of Nepal. The sun and moon symbolize the families of the prime minister and king.
