Description
This is the older Georgia Flag before the change to the controversial flag in the 1950’s. The flag was changed by politicians during the de-segregation period of the late 1950’s as a symbol to fight back against the Federal Government’s orders to do so. Politicians argued they changed it to honor the Centennial commemoration of the Civil War. Whatever their reasons, we will never truly know. Many love flying the Georgia flag because of it’s historical significance throughout many time periods. The Georgia state flag has many ties to the Confederate States of America to this day.
