Colombia Flag, Colombian Flag 3 X 5 ft. Standard
A powerful, exciting flag for one of South America’s rising star countries.
The Colombia Flag was inspired and designed by General Francisco Gabriel de Miranda (1750-1816), one of the instigators of independence. The flag shares a general design with the flags of the Republics of Ecuador and Venezuela due to the brief confederation shared by these now sovereign countries from 1822 to 1830. This flag was adopted officially on November 26th, 1861. That makes the Colombian flag one off the worlds oldest flags.
While there is no official meaning for the colors of the flag a popular Colombian children’s song defines the colors as “yellow is our gold, blue is our vast seas and red is the blood that gave us our freedom”.
On the Colombian flags we have for sale on this site, we have taken care to get the colors to be bright and eye catching. The edges are double stitched for durability and the flag hangs on any standard flag pole using the metal grommets.
