Buddhist Flag 3 ft x 5 ft Fully Sewn Flag (USA MADE)
This is an American made flag of our toughest, most durable nylon fabric. It has solid brass grommets. You won’t find a nylon flag with higher tensile and tear strength, yet it flies very well in the wind. It has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. The colors are deeper, brighter and last over time, due to the aniline dyeing process. There is a one inch double edge fold with four rows of stitching on the fly edge. It has 1 1/2 inch reinforced stitching vertically at the fly corners, and 3 1/2 inch reinforced hem stitching (horizontal) at top of bottom of the fly.
This flag was raised in 1885 in Sri Lanka. It represents the Buddhist faith and is symbolic of peace. The colors are meant to represent the aura that emanated from Gautama Buddha as he gained Enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree. The various races of the world are shown in the horizontal stripes. The Blue light that radiated from the Buddha’s hair symbolizes Universal Compassion for all beings. The Yellow light that radiated from the Buddha’s epidermis symbolizes the Middle Way, avoiding extremes and bringing balance and liberation. The Red light that radiated from the Buddha’s flesh symbolizes blessings stemming from the practice of Buddhism. The White light that radiated from the Buddha’s bones and teeth symbolizes the purity of the Buddha’s Teaching and the liberation it brings. The Orange light that radiated from the Buddha’s palms, heels and lips symbolizes the unshakable Wisdom of Buddha.
