Bennington 1776 Flag – Outdoor
Made in the USA – Available in 3×5 and 5×8 with or without fringe
This is an American made flag of tough, durable and long-lasting nylon fabric. You won’t find nylon flags with higher tensile and tear strength. It has embroidered stars, sewn stripes (NOT printed), and solid brass grommets. The fabric has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. This flag has a one inch double edge fold around the edges, with four rows of stitching on the fly edge where the flag needs the greatest strength.
Tradition tells us this flag was flown by Nathanial Fillmore at the Battle of Bennington in 1777 (Nathaniel Fillmore was the grandfather of U.S. President Millard Fillmore). In 1926 it was donated by the last Fillmore family owner. This flag has 13 stars in an unusual pattern. The 13 white and red stripes are also unusual as they begin and end with white stripes. The blue field is extra large, resting on a red stripe. Within an of stars arch is the number “76” that denotes the year of the American Declaration of Independence.
Fringed flags are made to order and come in Gold, Black, White, Silver, Red, Green, and Blue.
