This is the Flag of Assyria. The golden circle represents the sun while its blue light represents tranquility. The three colored lines show the three major rivers in this area, the Tigris, the Euphrates, and the Great Zab. The thing on top is a figure of the Assyrian God, Assur. It is said that when the stripes are reversed (blue on bottom, red on top), the country is at war.
