Revolutionary War Flags:  The American revolution was a break from the tyranny of the British in 1776. The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th 1776 and read to the people of Philadelphia ensuring that its signers would be treated as traitors to the British Crown. The rest of the story is known and the American Colonies prevailed in the form of the United States of America.
