Consisting of a four pointed compass on a dark blue background, it is unknown who actually designed this flag.  NATO is an alliance of 26 countries in North America and Europe created through a treaty signed on 4 April 1949. The NATO flag is not to be flown above any other country flag and is not a battle flag.
